Come Join the Greater Hickory Pet Expo

Everyone who has a pet knows just how important those animals are. They are a part of the family, and it doesn’t matter if they have fur, scales, or fins. Pet owners love their animals. Those who are living in or visiting the Hickory area might want to head out to the Greater Hickory Pet Expo on June 5th and June 6th. You will be able to shop for a variety of pet products and services. The expo also has entertainment, demonstrations, education, and more.

You can find some great educational classes at the expo. Introduction to Saltwater Aquariums will teach beginners how to start and keep their saltwater aquarium, and you will learn about all the costs involved with such a project. You might want to take the Keeping Pets Happy & Healthy Class with veterinarian Deidre Sesan, where you will learn all about the health of your pets and how to make them thrive in your care.

One of the demonstrations that is sure to be popular is the K9 demonstration. The sheriff’s office will show how their K-9 units help their human partners with searches and apprehension of criminals.

If your pet doesn’t mind wearing a costume, you might consider entering him or her into the pet costume contest. Even if you do not have a pet to bring in costume, you will still want to bring your camera.

Pet lovers will be able to find plenty of things to see and do when they visit the expo. The Saturday hours for the expo are 10 AM to 6 PM, and the hours on Sunday are from 11 AM to 5 PM. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children aged 6 – 15. Children 5 and under are free.
